Role Mission

They’re looking for a Buyer – Men’s Ready to Wear and Men’s Silk Accessories. He/she will be part of the Europe Retail Merchandising Team and responsible of the Men’s Ready to Wear and Silk Accessories buying process as well as motivate and manage a team to exceed plan and drive the business.

Key Accountabilities

Planning and forecasting

  • Plan sales and open to buy by category, collections, stores and stores-collections

Buying activities

  • Develop seasonal purchases and carryover sales and stock plan with reorders (selection, quantities, assortment) for each store
  • Optimize buying by store to exploit opportunities by market
  • Participate in European presentations, meetings and linked to the buys

Analysis & Monitoring

  • Control data analysis
  • Monitor/study detailed sales and stock for the specific category (style, store, etc)
  • Maximize sales and results by store through collaboration with the stores Through also store visits in order to encourage and strengthen the existing relationships between stores and merchants and obtain a better understanding of each market
  • Coordinate with WW merchants on product feedback and market needs, pricing and line building through written and verbal communication and selling reports
  • Coordination with WW visual team in order to maximize sales and results by store
  • Closely monitor progress of business react accordingly

Inventory activities

  • Inventory management: achieve growth across all classifications and price ranges
  • Execute proactive consolidations to ensure profitability and satisfy market’s needs
  • Analyze selling trends and react with reorders and cancellation

Competitors’ Analysis

  • Evaluate market trends and competitors
  • Study and report on competitors pricing, products and merchandising presentation strategies

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop Assistant Buyer
  • Coordination of team work


  • Successful studies in business management, majoring in business administration or marketing
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar contests
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Analytical capabilities and numeric aptitude
  • Experience in large volume distribution
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly committed to Gucci brand and strong passion for opportunity presented
  • Passionate about exceeding corporate goals and driving business
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
